QBCC repairs to buildings 5,6,7 - APPROVED!

Thanks to all the hard work from former committee member Rob Smith, he has progressed our claim with QBCC (Qld Building and Construction Commission) to final approval. This involves repairs to all three buildings 5,6,7.

This has been an ongoing issue since the receivers completed the construction of the buildings and then was held up when the original BSA was replaced by the QBCC by the Qld Government.

The QBCC have selected the final contractor and work will start very soon to repair the drainage problems in the basements of all 3 buildings and also the repair of the rusting beams on the balconies. The final cost came in at over $250,000 demonstrating the significance of the issue that the original builder left us with.

We are very grateful for Rob's good work on this project and also the previous success he had in obtaining compensation from the QBCC for the repairs to the lifts in those buildings. Those issues were a direct result of the drainage problem now being fixed.
