This article has been removed from the Noticeboard and a general notice about water preservation has been added...

As an update to our water consumption issue, our water leaks have been stopped (the water feature leak is not yet completed) but we are still using quite a lot of water compared to the average household usage.

Water is a precious commodity ..... be Waterwise and consume it wisely!

Below are the latest ilanah aqua water consumption statistics for the period May 2012 to July 2014. The purpose of the statistics is to alert all owners/residents to our mutual and sustained efforts to curb and contain our relative high water usage, especially given the high cost of water of late. In particular, we draw your attention to the 'Usage kL/day' column [kL = kilolitre = 1,000 litres].

In addition, please note the Local Government Distribution and Retail Price component increased by 6.3% whereas the State Bulk Water Price increased by 38.6% for the period May 2012 to Jul 2014. Price increases (included in the latest Water Rates Notice dated October 2014) were 2.8% and 9.7% for Local & State governments respectively (July 2014 over October 2013 - for 6 months).

You may also be interested to learn our Sewerage and Water Services (Fixed Access Charges) increased by 5.3% for the same period (May 2012 to Jul 2014) - but this item is a direct unit charge and not an allocated charge. There were no price increases in the latest water rates notice in respect of Fixed Access Charges for Sewerage and Water Services.

Our current daily average water usage per unit is 535 litres - which is a 4% improvement over the previous water rates notice but still 18% higher than the SE-Qld average household rate of 455 liters. This is still a concern and the Committee would like your support to be Waterwise and conserve water where possible and deploy water savings devices/measures where possible/practical.

There is only one meter for the whole complex, so we all have to work together to reduce the usage and the cost.

Here is a web link to a very interesting and interactive Waterwise website which not only allows you to calculate your own water usage but also gives you helpful water saving tips along the way. We hope you find the web-site useful and fun.
